Make sure these basics are already in place before you build your first FAQ block.
- Elementor is active.
- The
FAQwidget is enabled inWidget & Extensions. - If you want reusable FAQs, the
FAQ Libraryis enabled.
Fastest Way to Create Your First FAQ
Option 1: Manual FAQ in Elementor
- Open the page in Elementor.
- Search for
Modern FAQ. - Drag the widget into the page.
- In the
FAQpanel, keepContent Sourceset toManual Items. - Add your questions and answers.
- Choose a layout.
- Save the page.

Use this when you want the simplest Elementor-only workflow.

Use this when the same FAQ needs to appear on multiple pages.

- Cleaner long-term workflow
Current Page Assignment
Use this when you rely on templates and want each page to control its own FAQ source.
- Great for Elementor templates
- Per-page FAQ mapping
- Good for editor-managed sites
ACF Field
Use this when FAQ data already lives in Advanced Custom Fields.
- Dynamic post meta setups
- Structured custom fields
- Developer-managed content models
How to Enable and Use the FAQ Library
Enable the Library
- Open the plugin dashboard.
- Go to
FAQ Library. - Turn on
Enable FAQ library (FAQ item post type). - Turn on
Enable FAQ collections taxonomyif needed.
Once enabled, you can create FAQ Items, FAQ Collections, and page-level FAQ assignments.
Use FAQ Collections in the Widget
- Create FAQ items in the FAQ Library.
- Assign them to one or more FAQ Collections.
- In Elementor, set
Content SourcetoFAQ Collection. - Choose the collections you want to display.
- Set limit and ordering if needed.
How to Use Current Page Assignment
- Add the FAQ widget to your Elementor page or template.
- Set
Content SourcetoCurrent Page Assignment. - Open the page or post in WordPress.
- Use the
Current Page FAQ Assignmentbox. - Choose FAQ Collections for that page.
- Save the page.
Toggle Icon Types
You can choose different FAQ icons from Style > Toggle Icon > Icon Type.
- Plus / Minus Circle
- Plus / Minus Minimal
- Down / Up Arrow
- Down / Up Chevron
- Down / Up Caret
Important Tips
Excerpt Behavior
- Only the manual WordPress excerpt field is used.
- No automatic excerpt is generated.
- If the excerpt field is empty, the full answer is shown.
Schema Tip
Avoid adding another FAQ schema source on the same page unless it is intentional.
Review duplicates in Dashboard > FAQ Library > Schema > Schema collision monitor.

If Something Does Not Show Up
Check these first before troubleshooting deeper.
- Is the FAQ widget enabled?
- Is the correct content source selected?
- Are the FAQ items or collections populated?
- If using Current Page Assignment, does the page have assigned collections?
- If using ACF, is the field name correct?
